Hospital Auxiliary Holiday Supper
The Kanabec Hospital Auxiliary celebrated the holidays and their year of accomplishments with their annual holiday party. The Auxiliary is a volunteer organization that’s purpose is to provide funds and services to benefit Kanabec Hospital and its patients.
Auxiliary members perform very important duties in directly serving patients. Through their Volunteer Information Program (VIP) they provide information and assistance to patients every weekday. Dorothy Bolen, Auxiliary president, says patients really appreciate having a caring person available to actually walk them to the correct location. “It’s so nice to volunteer and to know that we’re really appreciated,” she said. “It feels good to help patients, and the staff here at Kanabec Hospital are so very supportive.”
Auxiliary volunteers also manage the Kanabec Hospital Gift Shop, arrange school tours of the hospital and provide hand-knitted caps for all new babies, among many other things. In addition, the Auxiliary sponsors an annual $500 scholarship for a high school senior who is pursuing education to work in the healthcare field.
The Kanabec Hospital Auxiliary includes members of all ages. It is a great opportunity to be involved and active in the Kanabec Hospital system.
